Our European headquarters, IRC-UK, were established in London in 1997 to support the organisation’s global activities and particularly to diversify its donor base and be able to better advocate with European policy-makers on behalf of the people we serve. Since its establishment IRC-UK has grown rapidly and is now acknowledged for its high quality project management, technical expertise in governance and rights and economic recovery, and innovative thinking on early recovery and gender based violence. The IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels and Geneva.
IRC-UK comprises approximately 100 staff across five departments.
UK FUNDRAISING TEAM
The IRC has invested significantly in the UK fundraising team which has increased its capacity considerably over the past 3 years. There are ambitious plans to increase this even further as part of the forward-thinking global revenue-generation strategy. This is therefore an exciting time to join a fast paced, dynamic team with ambitious but achievable targets.
This role sits in the Corporate Partnerships team within the UK Private Fundraising Team. This team has grown three-fold in personnel over the past year after securing a number of high value, sector-leading partnerships, including one £multi-million partnership, recently renewed in June, with a leading financial institution. The Corporate Partnerships Executive will be crucial to delivering this important partnership.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Corporate Partnerships Executive will support the scale-up and delivery of IRC UK’s leading corporate partnership and the partnership programme more broadly. The flagship partnership currently supports building livelihoods for refugees and displaced people in Greece, Nigeria and Jordan. The extension of the grant means that the programme will also launch in Lebanon, Cameroon and Germany in 2020 and the Corporate Partnerships Executive will be pivotal to the success of this expansion.
The position is newly created in recognition of the team’s quickly growing portfolio of partners and our ambitious goals to raise more funds and reach even more people whose lives have been affected by conflict across the world in 2020.
As part of this, the Corporate Partnerships Executive will also work closely with the Head of Corporate and the wider team in delivering high-class cultivation, stewardship and communication to the IRC’s partners and prospects. This role will be pivotal in executing the corporate strategy to secure and deliver world-class, pioneering partnerships for the IRC.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Corporate Partnerships Manager
- Works closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships on specific projects
- Works in close coordination with colleagues in other fundraising functions, in particular the Major Gifts Assistant, the Trusts & Foundations Executive and the Philanthropy & Partnerships Executive.
- Works closely with the Communications Partnerships Manager and other colleagues in the media and comms team.
- Works alongside the Corporate Partnerships Manager liaising with key contacts of the leading corporate partnership. Plus other contacts within businesses across a wide range of sectors including finance, telecommunications, energy and consumer facing-brands.
- Represents the IRC at external events.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support on the delivery and scale-up of the leading corporate partnership (60%)
- Support the Corporate Partnership Manager in managing relationships with the corporate partners.
- Support the Corporate Partnership Manager in developing strong relationships with IRC technical units and country programmes.
- Support on the reporting and administrative requirements of existing partnerships.
- Coordinate internal and external teleconferences and meetings, preparing meeting briefings and supporting materials.
- Support corporate partners and IRC country programmes in the delivery of successful field visits as required, potentially attending the field trips personally.
- Support with the organisation and management of stewardship and cultivation events as required.
Delivering the corporate partnerships strategy (20%)
- Support the Head of Corporate in delivering high-class cultivation, stewardship and communication to the IRC’s partners and prospects.
- Work closely with the Corporate Development Manager and researcher to support in the identification of prospects and the IRC’s due diligence process.
- Support the Corporate Partnerships team in the coordination of internal and external meetings and briefings, contributing to content and comms.
- Support with administrative tasks and ensure to the smooth day to day running of the Corporate Partnerships team.
Team collaboration (20%)
- Support the Head of Corporate with monthly, quarterly and annual strategic and financial reporting as required.
- Play an active and collaborative role in the UK Private Fundraising team, looking for opportunities to share ideas, content and best practice.
- Carry out administrative activities and other duties, as required, to maximise IRC UK’s fundraising
- Champion team behaviours and shared objectives.
